Hosting an event during the fall season offers a variety of benefits—namely, cozy ambiance and beautiful landscapes. Fall corporate event themes are endless, and there’s plenty of opportunity to make yours stand out. Get started by exploring some of the most popular fall event themes.

Wine Nights

Wine nights strike the perfect balance between laid-back and formal, so they work well for both corporate and casual events. Different wines bring different moods to the party. For example, a Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Noir can give your event a carefree, joyful feel, while a Zinfandel can create a more creative atmosphere. Plan to include foods that pair well with wine, such as cheese boards decked out with fall decorations.

Pumpkin Patch

While pumpkin patches are a common theme, they’re especially ideal for events that include children. Pumpkin patches are affordable, easy to set up, and can keep kids entertained for hours while the adults catch up or enjoy a drink.

Including a pumpkin patch as part of your event also gives you an excuse to include pumpkin-themed foods in your event, such as pumpkin bread and pumpkin pie. You can even bring in a mobile coffee bar and offer classic fall favorites like a pumpkin spice latte or apple cider. Consider setting up a pumpkin painting and carving station to let the creativity flow.

Oktoberfest

Oktoberfest events are an excellent choice for casual events or corporate celebrations. There are two main components of an Oktoberfest party—food and beer. Traditional Oktoberfest foods include pretzels served with a hot cheese dip, sauerkraut, and brats.

Even with great food options, beer is the main draw at an Oktoberfest event. Consider serving a range of creative drinks, from stout beer to mulled wine and everything in between. Make sure you provide a non-alcoholic option for those guests who prefer lighter drink options. Oktoberfest events usually include games like keg rolling and stein racing, which can keep guests active while they enjoy a beer.

Harvest Party

A harvest party is a more traditional and approachable fall-themed event and includes iconic fall activities like bobbing for apples, as well as arts and crafts to keep everyone entertained. You can serve all kinds of fall-themed food at your party, including pecans, cranberries, pumpkins, and apples. Consider sourcing your food from regional farmers and supporting local businesses. If you’ve been itching to break out the fall wreaths and the autumn leaf decorations, there’s no better time than a harvest party.

 Casino Night

Casino nights are ideal for late autumn when it’s a little too chilly for an outdoor event.

The core of casino night is the games—consider including casino staples like blackjack, poker, and backgammon. If you’re feeling especially extravagant, you could even set up full-sized slot machines.

However, gambling with money isn’t a necessity for casino night—in fact, it’s important to check the legality of this if you’re considering it for your event. Have your guests play for fun or provide them with a mock gambling currency. At the end of the night, your guests can exchange their currency for prizes like an extra day off or an office coffee maker. Consider making your casino night Vegas-themed with a roulette wheel or sequin-themed dress code.

 Bonfire and S’mores

A bonfire creates a relaxing, stress-free atmosphere perfect for more casual gatherings and laid-back corporate events. Of course, no bonfire is complete without s’mores. Consider setting up a s’more creation station that offers both traditional s’more ingredients, as well as more creative and memorable ingredients, like chocolate, peanut butter, caramel, fresh fruit, and cinnamon. If you’re planning on serving a main course in addition to the s’mores, keep guests engaged by having them roast their own brats and mini weenies over the fire.

 Lumberjack

Minnesota has an extensive history with lumberjacks, so consider playing into that when planning your event. Nothing says fall like a giant Paul Bunyan and Babe the Blue Ox! Deck out your event space with plaid tablecloths and napkins, and have attendees come dressed in their favorite fall flannels. You can even set up lumberjack-themed games for your guests to enjoy, such as:

  • Ax throwing
  • Giant jenga
  • Log rolling
  • Flannel relay racing
